Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins, the Mexican American journalist. She currently works for ESPN as a reporter for SportsCenter and occasionally host SportsNation. She joined ESPN as a reporter in 2016. She is a daughter of Maria Antonieta Collins, a television reporter. Antonietta Collins is a bilingual woman and has been so since her age of nine. This skill allowed her to land her first job with Univision, Miami. She could work with national producers on programs such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. In 2009, the CBS affiliate of St. Petersburg hired her following this to become an sports reporter. Then, in 2009 the news reporter relocated to Rio Grande Valley Texas where she worked for KNVO TV 48 Univision as and Fox2 News. In 2009, she moved to Rio Grande Valley, Texas and became an editor for KNVO48 Univision and Fox2 News. She also filled in for weather anchors, sports anchors and forecasters. She was then anchor and reporter for Univision Dallas' Deportes 23. She was then given larger responsibilities. She did pieces on Major League Baseball's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason and the NBA Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. Aside from this she also co-hosted and produced Univision 23's Accion Deportiva Extra local sports show. She was anchor for the sports segment of Despierta America Deportes morning show. She also served as a sports anchor for Primer Impacto, a magazine show on the UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collins was born and raised in the city of Veracruz, Mexico. They eventually settled in Mexico City and she was born there on November 22 in 1985. There is also an older sibling. Her family left in 1992 Mexico and relocated to Miami. In 1992, the couple divorced then shortly thereafter in 1995 she remarried Fabio Fajardo who was naval engineer, who died in 2006 from kidney cancer. It was on a holiday in the summer that she lived with her sister at Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl had secured an employment. Antonietta is a senior in high school, yet she knew exactly what career path she wanted. When she was deciding whether Mount Union is the right choice for her, Antonietta went to visit the school. She discovered that she liked the campus and that the school offered the major she wanted. Following the completion of her high school education, she enrolled in the University to pursue media studies. Mark Bergmann, her professor who was also WRMU's 91.1FM station for which she worked for a number of years, was a friend. It was he who inspired her confidence, and his passion for journalism deeply touched her. She determined to meet his demands, never letting him down.
